The problem
Shuffle, as most apps do it, has three habits.
The same songs, again
A long playlist keeps landing on the same few dozen tracks, while hundreds of others go untouched for months.
Clumps and streaks
Three songs from one album in a row. Then a run of slow tracks. A shuffle can be random and still feel stuck.
It forgets where you were
Close the app, switch devices, or tap the playlist again, and the order starts over from a new random point.
How it works

Connect, read-only
Sign in to a service and pick a playlist. TruShuffle asks for permission to read it, and nothing more.

Shuffle once, properly
Every track gets exactly one place in a fresh order, using a Fisher-Yates shuffle (the textbook method for an unbiased deal).

Pick up where you left off
Your position is saved. Next time, playback starts at the next track you have not heard in this pass.

Reach the end, deal again
Once every track has played, start a new pass with a new order. No song plays twice in the same pass.

Before you ask.
Will TruShuffle change my playlists?
No. It reads your playlists and keeps its own record of order and position. Your playlists stay exactly as you left them on the original service.
Which services does it work with?
YouTube and Spotify first. Other services are planned where their terms allow read access.
Is a shuffle without repeats still random?
Yes. Each new pass is a uniformly random order of the whole playlist. The difference is that the order is fixed for the pass, so every track gets its turn before any track comes back.
When can I use it?
TruShuffle is in development now. Request early access and you will hear when the first version is ready.
